Are you a Tomato Enthusiast? Do you love being part of a Team?
The Wabash Tomato Trials are a great way to learn about growing tomatoes and unique varieties in Houston. A group of about 15-20 participants commit to growing tomatoes organically, tracking their tomatoes progress online and meeting in person once a month to share learnings, knowledge and challenges.
Wabash provides a few tomatoes to each participant and a coupon for select Garden-related items. The trials last from January through June, so each participant signs a contract to show their commitment. We’ve chosen 8 Varieties to trial in 2026, both Heirloom and Hybrid varieties, and are offering some optional varieties for Trial Participants to purchase at a discounted rate. This year we’re setting up a Slack workspace so people can share photos and ask questions along the way of Wabash Gardeners, as well as each other
The monthly meetings are in person at the Wabash Classroom on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 3-4pm, January through June.
Kick Off Meeting is on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in the Wabash Classroom at 3pm!
Join us for the Kick Off of the 2nd Annual Tomato Trials. The Participant Contract, streamlined tracking form and access to our new communication group chat on Slack will be available at that time. We hope to provide most or all of the tomato plants at that meeting, but some may be distributed after the 1st meeting.
If you are interested in participating in the Tomato Trial please click the button link below to fill out the Intake Form. There is a section for notes, so we’ll be able to address any concerns you may have.
We hope to see you at our January 25th Kickoff Meeting! Let’s Grow!
