Seasonally, we stock a variety of bulbs including Alliums, Amaryllis, Hyacinths, Narcissus and specialty bulbs like Lycoris and Ranunculus. You can pre-order your bulbs, with an option to order a pre-chilled bulb.
It is possible to naturalize Alliums, must be planted in the garden. Amaryllis, Hyacinths, and Narcissus can be forced indoors in bulb glasses or in pots.
Amaryllis and Lycoris can naturalize here very easily, they aren’t super picky about their soil. With large bold flowers, they are very easy to care for and all over, a great garden bulb.
Generally, Narcissus are showy for the Spring season but the Ziva Paperwhite, will come back year after year. If you add a little Gin to your Narcissus water it can help stay stockier and enhances bloom.
Hyacinths can be grown in bulb glasses or in pots in soil, they are considered annuals in the Houston area.
Ranunculus also acts like an annual, it is a showy and colorful flower.
In Houston, Tulips are typically treated as annuals and require specific planting to thrive. To successfully grow tulips in Houston refrigerate the bulbs 6-8 weeks before planting them in late December or January. Plant the bubs in well-drained soil, mix in some bone meal.
