Community Corner

Wabash has been around so long thanks to our wonderfully vibrant and diverse community.

We look for ways to give back to our customers and community through classes, events, donations and special benefits.

Throughout the year, we offer educational classes on subjects related to urban homesteading like gardening, backyard chickens, bee-keeping, food preserving and more. You can read more about these topics at the Wabash Almanac blog. Each Spring and Fall we host a festival with local vendors, activities for kids and adults. We also hold occasional Goat Yoga classes!

Wabash provides in-kind and financial donations to schools, PTA’s and FFA programs, as well as partnering with non-profit organizations like the American Cancer Society and Friends for Life.

Customers can earn rewards in our Customer Loyalty Program.  We offer special shopping benefits to Public School teachers and volunteers as well as Non-Profit organizations with eligible purchases.  Finally, we are pleased to support school, non-profit and community gardens through our Plant & Seed Donation program.

Learn more about each of these below!

CLASSES & EVENTS

At Wabash, we offer weekend classes on a variety of subject matters that generally related to urban homesteading; starting and maintaining a viable garden, growing & preserving food, raising backyard chickens, becoming a beekeeper, etc. In addition, we host events like our Spring Fling, Fall Family Day, and Wabash Goat Yoga to connect with our community in fun and festive ways.

COMMUNITY DONATIONS

Wabash has partnered with various non-profit organizations and public schools to support their fundraising initiatives. We’ve participated with the American Cancer Society’s Holiday Shopper’s Card and in 2025, our customers helped raise money to buy food, toys and treats for the dogs and cats at the Friends for Life no-kill shelter.  As often as we can, we provide gift-baskets, in-kin and financial donations to schools, PTA’s and FFA programs.

About once a quarter, we provide donations of Seeds and Plant Material to school gardens, non-profit organizations and community gardens. Please click the link below to make a request.
